About NIWAD

NIWAD is a non-profit voluntary agency registered under the Indian Trust Act. The Chief Functionary of the Trust, a woman with a strong academic background, was inspired by her research and one-year field experience in a village, where she actively engaged in community development services. This close interaction with vulnerable groups deepened her understanding of rural challenges and strengthened her resolve to work for social equity. Motivated by her inspiration and commitment to uplift marginalized communities, she established the Trust in 2005 under the name NIWAD, with a vision to serve people in need on a long-term basis.
